Full Name: Callum Copernicus Arden

Age/DOB: 22/February 2nd

Bloodline: Muggle-Born/Unknown (His adopted parents are Muggles. His birth mother was a Muggle, but his father could have been either.)

Physical Description: Callum is 6'2 and filled out from a strenuous exercise routine. He has dark gray eyes, tousled brown hair, and a sprinkling of freckles. He keeps his hair shorter, but a bit scruffy, and he tries to keep himself clean-shaven, though sometimes he likes that 'rugged and worn' look. His eyes say more than his words, but his lips are not a stranger to a smile.

Background: If his young life wasn't so peaceful and happy, at least the setting fit the description. He spent the first nine years of his life in a little cottage outside of a village in Wales. He can't remember ever going to school when he was living with his mother. He spent his days on the hills, playing with sticks, stones, and wildlife. His mother had company all the time. Always men that smelled funny to him. When they were at the cottage, Callum had to go outside or up to his room. Even then he could hear the strange noises coming from the cottage. When he was older, he would realize that his mother had been a whore, to feed him and keep their home. The only things he can remember about her is her vanilla smell, her warm hugs, and her bright red hair. He doesn't even know her real name. When he was nine, his mother died and he was shipped off to a foster home.

The Ardens found him when he was ten, trapped away in an overcrowded house. They hugged him. It had been the first hug since his mother's death. He remembered how funny he thought his new parents were, especially his father. The part Chinese and part Italian man made an overabundance of food, made Callum love books, and let him have as many pets as he wanted. When his new sister came home from boarding school, Rosalind took his hand and showed him a new side of the world – magic, with witches and wizards. She was tons of fun and listened to him like he really mattered. He adored his new sister and she let him in on a big secret - she was a witch! His mum wasn't too happy about him knowing Lindy's secret. In fact, she didn't seem to like Lindy being a witch or, well, Lindy at all. Then he found out that Lindy had a twin brother! So then Callum had not only new parents, but a sister and a brother! So what if his new brother was a little weird? He was older and cool and a wizard!

Callum's first magical experience was soon after he had been adopted by the Ardens. He was trying to make spaghetti by himself like his father had shown him. While trying to lift the heavy pot of boiling water over the sink, he slipped. Instead of scalding hot water falling all over him, the water turned into little bright sparks. He started to dance around the kitchen. He was going to the magical school too! While his father was happy and very excited for him, his mother was not and promptly told Callum so. It made him very sad to know that his mother didn't like magic and that it made her unhappy.

Sorted into Ravenclaw, Callum displayed a natural flair for acing exams and getting stuffed into suits of armor by bullies. He spent the first five years at Hogwarts trying to stay out of everyone's way. He followed Quidditch extensively and daydreamed about being on the team, but couldn't see how that would ever happen. He was positive that his life was going to end with a desk job and no excitement. In sixth year, everything changed. He made a new friend that showed him what he was doing wrong. He fell in love for the first time and it inspired him to make new and permanent changes. He made Head Student, the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and new friends. Unfortunately, the changes inflated his ego and for awhile, he was an insufferable prat to be around.

On his seventeenth birthday, he found out from his older sister that he would inherit their grandfather's winery when he turned twenty-one, and the fortune that came with it would be his as well. The news was overwhelming, but eye-opening. He spent the last year at Hogwarts trying to decide what he was going to do with his life. Would he live in the magical world or in his natural habitat of muggles? Would he sell the company and live work-free for the rest of his life?

No matter how much he tried to love his grandfather's work, he just couldn't do it. The day after graduating from Hogwarts, Callum broke all ties with the company and gave half of the proceeds to his parents. By this time, his mother's alcoholism has resulted in liver failure. While she refuses to be treated by a medi-witch, Callum can't stand to see her suffer and wants the best care for his mother. Now knowing he won't be in the business, he decided to bridge the gap between magical and muggle. He went to uni for his law degree, graduated top of his class, finished his LPC, and is now just entering a training contract with Allen & Hornbeak, a firm dedicated to representing muggle clients with magical matters, magical clients with muggle matters, and everything in between.

Strengths: Callum is extremely intelligent, almost dangerously so because he'll overthink a situation and give himself a panic attack. Once his mind is made up, there is no changing it. He tries to be ever the gentleman and feels frustrated when put into a situation that tests that resolve. He tries to use logic whenever possible and almost as a barrier against emotions that would carry him away. He's passionate, but he tries not to be because passion could lead to mistakes.

Weaknesses: He can be quite reserved and has very high expectations for himself, but sometimes he just snaps and goes wild. He can be bad in relationships, afraid of committing and of hurting the other person, but he's a closet romantic. He's been hurt in the past and that hurt has stayed with him. Physically, Callum has been deaf in his left ear for as long as he can remember. He's learned to adapt and has not sought out in magical aid for this defect. He can be weak-willed unless he's made up his mind to do something.

Occupation: Solicitor – beginning his two year training contract with Allen & Hornbeak.

Former House: Ravenclaw
